Go See Go Figure
For all you lovers of fashion and illustration it’s time to go see the latest exhibition at Fashion Space Gallery. Second in a series curated by Polona Dolzan and Ligaya Salazar, it brings us a hand-picked selection of sixty works by thirteen emerging international illustrators. Including some bright, some bold, some classic and traditional styles this exhibition showcases diverse illustration skills ranging from the hand-drawn to the digitally created. Collectively this is a strong show and Artaksiniya, Hanna Mueller, Laura Laine and Tara Dougans stood out for us as being not just fashion led, but stylistically pioneering. The level of skill throughout is very high (and this is coming from an illustration agency manager) and I would imagine you’ll be seeing a lot more from these talented individuals.
Located just off Oxford Street in London, the dedicated gallery space is free to enter and open until 14th July.
VERY Barcelona… Chic & Basic hotel for fun and cheap spends.
A little gem of a hotel in the cool area of Born in Barcelona is the brilliantly named Chic & Basic. Located within ten minutes of the beach, the Ramblas and some of the best tapas in Barcelona, this 31 room hotel is ideal for the design, culture and price conscious.
Designed by renowned architect Xavier Claramut who transformed the traditional Catalan building into a super chic and openly paired down space. Chic & Basic’s interiors are only partly basic, predominantly white with mirrors and tentacle like LED fibre optics hanging from the ceiling. You can almost imagine yourself on a ’90s film-set of the ‘future’ – but the Baroque mouldings, a vast marble staircase and cotton sheets fortunately ease you back from the S.S. Heart of Gold, to a tranquil and noble estate…

I love Paris, it never fails to impress with its elegant, stylish and indulgently classy architecture and style. I also love Cointreau for its fresh, sweet and zesty flavour which creates a feminine and aspirational spirit. Hard to resist, then, a visit to Paris’ latest Burton-esque pop-up – Cointreau Privé – for a cocktail making masterclass…

Now settled into their new home on Carnaby Street, London – the queens of chocolate at Choccywoccydoodah invited us round for a little piece (or three) of cake. The kitsch, surreal and dreamy parlour sits over two floors of decadence, inviting all chocolate lovers to lose themselves in sweet indulgence. The visually dominant red backdrops highlight their spectacular creations – from large bespoke cakes, to solid chocolate lips, popcorn bars and glittered truffles – the aromas are otherworldly. Wondrous edible sculptures cater for all occasions and tastes, our favourites had to be ‘All You Need Is Love’, the naughty ‘Aye Aye’ & “The Matine Goes On’.
Having tried their milk-shakes, chocolates, buttons, sparkly brownies and incredible cakes – I have to admit that Choccywokkydoodah is in a league of its own. The taste of home-made using real ingredients (no powdered eggs here) with outrageous designs are not just a taste sensation but a visual delight too! Fun, and strangely comforting, you can check out their latest TV show on the Good Food channel; going behind the scenes of their Brighton store. But for those who fancy a bit more than just a treat, check out their London or Brighton stores.

They’ve been at it again, We Heart faves Carnovsky have translated their unique RGB formula onto fabric. Using the lightest and softest of silks they’ve created three limited edition designs – Rosone, Jungla and Bestiario – which partly become wearable art. The beauty of these, beyond their apparent aesthetic gorgeousness, is the natural organic material the RGB Chromatic Stimulus is printed on. The ever-changing natural beauty landscape of these scarves constantly evolves with each wear and wearer creating more that just a fashion accessory.
The 100% pure silk Peau d’ange are digitally printed and made in Italy with a hand rolled hem, each copy is numbered and signed on the silk label.
Available exclusively from www.no-one.co.uk only 99 copies of each have been made.

The multidisciplinary artist Chrissie Abbott has created several film work installations that occupy DreamBagsJaguarShoes, the tiny bar slash gallery on Kingsland Road. Projecting ‘interior landscapes’ using infinity mirrors, GIFs, and shots of nature – the films are psychedelic and dream like. Referencing space, the ocean, land and patternation; the late 70s soundtrack matched the installation wonderfully. The last time I heard Black Sabbath, Kyuss and May Blitz outside of my older brother’s house, I actually cannot remember – and the heavy synth and ‘stoner jams’ put together by Into the Void (musical duo Angry Aaron and Dead Mike) matched the lo-fi visuals exquisitely.
Sri Panwa, Phuket
I hate to call it a ‘resort’ which conjures Benidorm flashbacks of my early teens but the site has just the right blend of style and service that attracts a certain type of. For those looking for that piece of cool luxury with complete privacy, superb service and a party scene only a short drive away – Sri Panwa has to be on your holiday destination list.

Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin
When an invite to a molecular gastronomy restaurant specialising in Thai food pops up you won’t see me for dust. Especially if it comes from the creators of Kiin Kiin in Copenhagen, one of the only two Thai restaurants to have ever been awarded Michelin Stars; the other being Nahm in London. And, if that wasn’t exciting enough, did I mention that Sra Bua by Kiin Kiin is situated in the magnificently grand five-star Kempinski Hotel in downtown Bangkok?
